ABOUT US

The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) is the Destination Marketing and Management Organization (DMMO) for Aruba responsible for uniting tourism interests amongst the on- and off-island stakeholders/partners for the purpose of coordinating destination marketing, destination development and destination partnerships.

A culture of leadership and decision-making through empowerment is complemented by clear-cut work processes and result-oriented systems that transform ATA’s compelling business vision and mission into clear goals and objectives.

A.T.A.’s direction is to invest in targeted markets and activities which will result in an increase in visitors and on-island expenditures. Through these efforts, we would like to stimulate the interest of our visitors in defined markets, encouraging them to choose Aruba for their holidays, meetings, incentives, convention and in creating their memorable experiences.

As of January 1, 2011, A.T.A. has evolved from government agency to a unique independent legal entity within the public sphere. Our organizational structure and work processes now reflect a more flexible, effective and pro-active organization.

WORD FROM THE CEO

As CEO, I am primarily guided by realizing our mission and vision, which will evolve over time, with a revision by year-end 2017 as we finalize our multi-year Corporate Strategy (2018 – 2021). That said, I also focus every day on making A.T.A.’s culture and values, such as passion, creativity and innovation, come to life. All things considered, they are some of our most important competitive advantages.

In a recent stakeholder session, someone said that tourism uniquely empowers people to “do more.” The work we do empowers our team and our community to do more of what they care about and accomplish great things. To protect our most precious assets, to safeguard our hospitality, and to invigorate the entrepreneurial spirit that is embedded in the Aruban DNA. As we look forward, we must zero in on what Aruba uniquely can contribute to the future traveler and what tourism can contribute to our future society. The opportunity ahead will require us to re-imagine a lot of what we have done in the past and to do new things. To paraphrase a popular Latin proverb — “Fortune favors the bold”.
